Your food is high - how many are you feeding? I spend that on a family of 5. I think you could certainly get this down. Pop over to the oldstyle board for ideas. You car insurance is very high, when is it up for renewal? Have a look on www.quidco.com for car insurance providers and see if you can get one that offers cashback - should help to lower the cost.

Can you list all your credit card debts - balances, minimum payments, APRs etc.

    Is setanta 100% necessary?

    Hi!

Quite new to this site so just coming to terms with the lingo!

Desperately hoping to get debt free after a year where I seem to have lost control of my spending...

Looking for a group of people in a similar situation so we can motivate each other - anyone in a similar position interested?

I have debt of around £8000.

  • Hi All,

Start of a new week! I'm proud to announce that I haven't spent a penny in 7 days (bar the rent).

And to answer an earlier question - Setanta I get the money back from lodger and boyfriend, otherwise it would be gone!

Food - this sum will be dramatically reduced from now on. Not spent anything yet this month on food.

Anyone like to suggest this week's newbie saving challenge?
