What do i do?

I have been a numpty and have been undecided in my decision about a job offer and have left it so that i now cannot give 4 weeks notice to my current employer and my start date with my new employer is 4 weeks away. Silly to most people i know but i do suffer from indecision and have done before. Has any one here been in this position and does anyone have any advice for me?
I just don't know what to do now that my mind is a fog of indecision?

Hand write your notice and give it in today and just hope that your current employer doesn't play hard ball and demand that you still work for them on the day you are supposed to start the new job. If necessary call the new employer and ask if you can start a day or so late.0

You tell the potential new employer that you are accepting their offer but cannot start for 4 weeks0

Thank you yes i know you are correct and I just lost my vision on this and got mentally stuck at one place.
I think it is also a confidence thing as well, the job i have been offered is fantastic and a step up in what i do currently but also a change in how I will do things, ie from Field Engineer to Product Specialist working from home office, better pay less travelling etc. I got into my comfort zone with the current employer even though issues there caused me to look in the first place.
I also have a confidence complex at the moment where I kind of feel that i am not good enough for the new employer and that i won't succeed.0 -
Given what you have said a period in the office to establish networking within the company and become familiar with the people and practices could be beneficial.0

Do you think you are ready then - thinking this way rarely goes well and the confidence of losing/leaving places then as a result really f’s with you. You are going to have to do a lot to lose this feeling.
Would it be better to keep things good with this new employer rather then mess them around so they will at very least consider you in future and get to stay on good terms with old one.
Something is holding you back when you don’t give in notice straight away/when you are meant to. (If you aren’t subject to a conditional offer.)0 -

Hi,
See my thread a few down from this about my choices on moving jobs.
Its entirely up to you, but if you are hesitant about handing in your notice, then you have to think why? Are you not quite ready for this jump? or are you just a bit nervous about moving?
As someone else said, moving to a new employer being low on confidence isn't going to be great. You might love it though and fit in really well. I don't think you mention how good/bad your current job is?
Is the better pay less travelling worth it? Are there better prospects at the new place?
I hated people saying this to me but "its down to you". you are the only one who knows what your life is like and what you are feeling.
Its a difficult decision but you will make whichever one you think is best. That's all you can do!0
