Age limit on mortgages

Hi, I am 48, and my partner is 58. Our mortgage deal is coming up for renewal, and it currently has 15yrs left to run. We are interested in extending it to spread it over 20yr or longer if poss, instead of 15yrs to lower our monthly payments, so my question is:- will we be refused given my partners age, or are we likely to get accepted given that I am only 48? Do they take both ages into account, or do they just rule us out based on one of our ages?

Paying the mortgage beyond retirement is not a problem for either of us, as the outstanding mortgage is only £100k in total anyway.

Depends on lender, income/affordability.

Some will not go past 70, some to 75 a few to 80.

Expect to have to provide evidence of income in retirement in many cases.
