Halifax - mortgage application, settling a credit account.....

Hi all
We have completed an aip with Halifax and have been approved straight away , we have now started a full application and have booked a valuation on the application phone call
2 questions:
Firstly, does the fact that we have gone straight to the valuation stage mean that we have bipassed any referrals etc?

Secondly, on our application we said that we would settle a store card account that I have with next directory before the mortgage starts,our plan was to use some of the equity from the house sale to pay this off. However thinking about it now would that be acceptable to them or would they expect us to pay it off sooner?
Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

    Has to be settled prior to new mortgage being issued as far as I know so would have to be paid off prior I believe. Others may have other opinions/answers though. Using equity to pay it off... how bad is the debt?

    Nope you haven't skipped anything, questions can still be asked by underwriters.

    Thanks for replying .....
    I have £1300 owing on my next account and was going to clear it after the sale but obviously realising now that it would need to be settled prior to that.... Thanks for confirming this !!!55357;!!!56397;
