Halifax pay slip request before completion?

Hi,

I have purchased a new build off plan and have exchanged. The house will complete in November and I have read so many contradicting statements on here about what Halifax do just before completion. Does anyone know if they ask for more payslips and also credit check before completion?

Reason I ask is that since I applied I have got a season ticket loan through work which is now being deducted from my pay each month so if I applied now I guess it would affect the amount available to me. I am not sure why Halifax would need to see another payslip but wanted to check.

Any help would be appreciated,

thanks,

Laura

  • They do sometimes carry out multiple credit checks however they usually would only require additional proofs or information if the current mortgage offer expires

Thanks so much. So as a broker you have only come across them asking for additional proofs if the current mortgage offer expires?

  • In my experience yes, with new build some lenders are happy to extend an offer without additional proofs where by some do ask for latest payslips and bank statements, If you have ample time remaining on your current mortgage offer to take you to completion then you should be fine

I have a month and a half, the mortgage offer expires on the 31st of December. My mortgage broker said it would be unlikely that I don't complete before the end of the year as the housing development likes to get its figures in.

Do you see a lot of new builds go way past the expected build date?
