Having asked via SAR for details of any charges on my account I received a very fast reply (less than 7 days).. it included a printout of charges totalling £120 and a letter saying they are prepared to offer me just under £40. They say figure represents refund of difference between original £18-£20 and current £12 late payment charge. They go on about final settlement and want me to sign the letter in return. I've worked out with interest the charges in total actually total £150.
Based on other people's experiences with NU what would you possibly recommend I do next? I would love the whole amount of course but not sure whether it's possible nowadays to get full refund.
editing:
What I also would appreciate knowing is whether I should acknowledge their offer at all or just send the second letter stage asking for the full amount?
Hope you can assist?
