what's a good alternative to Gumtree 'work wanted' section (now gone) ?

I have been doing weekend work as a cleaner and gardener in London advertising on the work wanted section of Gumtree. work has come through and now they have cancelled the whole section. I used to use it years ago but NOW IT'S GONE
you cannot even pay to advertise. this was my lifeline in London. i have picked up skilled and been able to keep my head above water thanks to this particular section on Gumtree and they have got rid of it. can anyone offer me a good alternative?. I just need a good alternative that works similar i.e in the LONDON AREA. thank you very much

I don't know, but local Facebook pages might be worth investigating, plus there are various 'neighbourhood' pages round here (not London) and you may have similar.
I'd search using first part of postcode, or local area names, eg SE3 would cover most of Blackheath and Kidbrooke, SE18 Plumstead and Woolwich.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

ok thank you, you mean searching "SE3 JOBS" or just "SE3 "on Facebook?0 -
Either of those could work, but I wouldn't limit yourself to Facebook. DH is on something called 'NextDoor' which is a very local to us group, don't know if there would be similar near you. People post about lost dogs, things they're giving away, but also "I want a plumber" etc.ok thank you, you mean searching "SE3 JOBS" or just "SE3 "on Facebook?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Not as widely used as Gumtree but there's this https://www.goodhousekeeper.co.uk/ free to advertise and apply for jobs.
There's also care.com which although it says care does advertise many cleaning jobs although I'm not registered with these.
I know what you mean about the Gumtree 'work wanted' - I used to use it and then they pulled it - then after a year the facility reappeared but was then again removed! Don't know why they do this. Also I've noticed less jobs advertised than there used to be. It used to be my 'go to' site.0 -
Facebook has various local pages
I use the Buy Swap and Sell pages for my locality for everything as finding a decent hairdresser or selling stuff I want shot of
Just google you local boroughs and join all relevant sites0
