Tax relief of pension lump sum contribution

Well, I spoke to the tax office today, they confirmed that they have assumed basic rate tax relief has been claimed on my behalf by the provider. I asked them to check the documentation I had submitted but they were unable to access it. Their suggestion was that I wait for the P800 to come in the post, then write back with evidence as to why I believe the calculation was wrong. When I pointed out that they already had the evidence, they agreed to pass it to the back office for a review. So we'll see, I should have a call in the next 5 working days.0

An update. I didn't get a call within 5 days, but I did get a call from HMRC today acknowledging the error saying that the calculation had been revised to take into account the fact that I hadn't received basic rate tax relief at source. So it looks like its on track to be resolved with less difficulty than I had feared.0
