Doesn't matter who recommends what, you need to get out there trying them on in the shops. Then come home and order them online.

And then wonder why the next time you try this, the local shop has shut down....

What sort of price do you want to pay? You can get passable office shoes for £25 but they dont last very long. Clarkes are comfortable but you dont want to buy at full price since they have regular sales.

    I am Male.

    Should have mentioned that.

I am also male, and I rarely buy shoes from anywhere other than Hotter these days, as long as you try them on first to ensure the width suits your feet (a lot of styles come in dual width fitting now) then they can pretty much be guaranteed to be comfortable from day 1.

Do you have any shopping outlets in your part of the world? You can get some good bargains. We live fairly close to the Clarks Shopping Village in Street in Somerset, hundreds of shoes there

Do you need to be reminded of the difference between economy and false economy too?

I also need wide fitting shoes and tend to stick with Pavers wider fitting range for comfort.

I have wider feet and I love Ecco shoes, not desperately cheap however.

On a money saving theme, perhaps try on Hotters or Clarks at a local store to get an idea of size and fitting and then have a look on eBay for the same size & fitting.
