First Mortgage, clueless! Please advise

Hello all!
Been a lurker and member previously( forgotten passwords:D) !But really really need your advice and suggestions in terms of where to start looking for motgage, Credit file ( Dos n Don'ts). Dont want to ruin credit file even before process begins and much more!

So: 70K deposit, how much can i borrow on a very modest ( or low should I say :( )15K salary??
Bank 1 - has deposit in it
-Looking at first CC with them ( thsnks to all help in
CC thread)
Bank 2 - have a few thousand in this
-Looking to get fixed term deposit acc. For 12 or
18 months profit rate 1.85%/1.95% respectively
( For emergency fund- commiting around 3-4 K)
Building Society - want to transfer some amount to the
prospective Fixed term deposit)
Santander shares - value upto £500 ( want to sell)

Have never checked credit rating!Where to start without affecting it?

Will the movement of money, selling shares, fixed term deposit acc ( to be done in next few days) affect credit rating? Should i or should i not take these steps?

As for pprwork:
-Phone and broadband bill to be transferred into my name tommorow
-Have no written correspondence for tv licence/ mobile bills- do it via DD. How can I provide evidence for mortgage as no paper bank statemnt?
-6months pay slips ready!
Any thing else I need in prep?
Have i overlooked important aspects, seem inapropriate with handling acvounts etc? Anything at all you can suggest to a FTB will be recieved with appreciation.

Many thanks

Don't go to banks, just use a mortgage broker.

Start with someone like Trussle.com's affordability calculator https://apply.trussle.com/affordability-calculator.

How much you can borrow depends on a lot of factors, but roughly the max will be four times income, so about 60k for you I'd think.

Moneysavingexpert's 'credit club' is as good a place to start as any. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/creditclub . Joining will not affect your score.
