Hello
my job has recently gone from weekly pay to monthly of what i don`t mind but! over the course of the transition my boss is taking 1 week of pay from us over the course of 4 payments for example i get paid 1 week for 2 weeks work twice , 2 weeks for 3 weeks work twice, ontop of that he also has a week in hand that i worked when i first started this job i was wondering if this was legal? i i see it as withholding a employees pay

I'm struggling to understand what is happening here, so maybe you could give dates to explain it?
And when you say he has a week in hand, do you mean that he paid your first week in arrears? that's quite normal.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Some places do "lying on" as it is called this can be 1 week to 2 months wages.
But read your contract. You do have a contract dont you?0 -
I've only ever changed weekly to monthly once, in my previous job many years ago.
We got paid 1 week, then had to wait 3 weeks til our next pay.
We all got a loan of upto 75% of our monthly salary, which we didnt pay back monthly, and would become non refundable if we stayed with the company for at least 3 years.
I never paid it back.
My wife had the same thing a few years ago when they changed the payment date from middle of the month to end of the month.
She got a £250 loan payable back either upon any time she gained promotion, or when she left.
She paid it back when she was promoted to branch manager.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
