Thanks vonsworld. I also found the answer to my own question here in one of the other threads. I didn't realise there was a same-day service at RCJ. That makes things a lot easier - just need to wangle a day off work!
Good luck tomorrow, vonsworld - hope everything goes ok for you.0 -
If you get nervous about the whole RCJ set-up, just think of all of "them" as just human beings the same as "us"
Everyone goes through different stages in their life, nobody has a "blameless" perfect life. Just think, a lot of those people you see in the impressive suits and wigs carrying bundles of important looking papers are just the same on the inside.
Some of them probably go home to face problems of their own far more complicated than ours. As for the clerical aspect, they are all doing a job and can get just as bored as the rest of the workforce, I can't imagine that most of them at school had the ambition to be a clerk in a Bankruptcy Court.
I am quite a "people watcher" I always listen carefully to the background noise and can pick up a lot of clues from the spoken and unspoken ! the various Solicitors that are there for one side or another are just as interesting to observe. Even more so than the "staff" they are highly likely to have all sorts of personal issues - you must remember that TV series about London Solicitors - One Life ?
Anyway what I am trying to say, is go in there head held high, be confident, not cocky, don't be intimidated and if all else fails use that trick of public speakers or actors - imagine them all NAKED

Please dont take this as any disrespect as i feel for all of you but the process of my voluntary BR has been QUITE simple and quick. From sending off for the papers and phoning for an appointment happened within days.
The OR rang me the next day and am currently waiting to hear where we go from there.
I am noy saying it has been easy as i cried from the emotional relief espacially after loosing my dear mum in august (that is how my situation come to a head)
But up north, my god it was straight forward.
I did have to go before the judge but it was only due to the fact that he was a deputy in training!!!
My best wishes to you and i am sure it will not be as bad as you think.
