That's the problem, according to OP it wasn't in the documentation supplied during the mortgage application. It was only mentioned verbally.If it was in the initial documents with Santander when you applied then I'm not sure why they're playing up: perhaps it was an oversight from someone their end.
So it's only normal for them to but the brakes on, when the Solicitor send them documentation highlighting the involvement of gifted deposit, which wasn't documented on their end.
In your case (and mine) the mortgage broker took care of this in advance. One of the reasons to use professional help when £100k's are involved.0 -
You're right about it only being mentioned verbally no idea what will happen, I am so worried! It was actually Santander who told us not to deal with brokers so that's why we didn't. Plus money isn't unlimited for us hence the gifted deposit so when we were told by bank directly brokers just incur extra fees when we could bypass them obviously we agreed.0
