New reduced stickers in Lidl

Lidl marks down produce by 30% when it gets within 2 days of its best before date and now they have introduced 2 new reduced stickers, 20p and 70p that get stuck on top of the 30% orange sticker when the product gets to the last day for best before.
All well and good if the staff put the correct sticker on the product.
This came to my attention when an item that normally sells for 79p was reduced by 30% first to 55p but then a 70p sticker was used by mistake thus increasing the price again back up to almost the original price.
I managed to get it sorted out at the till but it took the shop manager coming out to get them to understand what I was talking about.
*Just a warning*

What I've seen of theses 70p markdowns I wouldn't buy them.
What I've seen they should be binned as I fell they would be unfit to eat.The more I live, the more I learn.

I bought two 70p instant meals last night (24th) and both had use by dates of 26th. I consider that to be a big enough margin of risk! Also a 20p salad to be used by today - I am quite happy with that. I did notice some items which are usually in the 85p price range which had been marked to 70p and they are simply not worth considering.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

If they're still in date why not?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Let's put it this way. The 70p deals I've seen in 2 of my local Lidls may have been in date but looked unfit to eat. Greyish meat, watery vegatables packs.
I prefer not to have the rotating tummy thanks. The more I live, the more I learn.

True.
I've seen food even in other supermarkets that were well in date but looked off or slimy.
I will eat most things past a date but won't eat stuff that is OFF before I've even brought it.The more I live, the more I learn.

But you wouldn't buy them anyway if they looked like that, so it has nothing to do with the reduced price.0 -

This is the point I was making in the OP, the staff should have put the 20p sticker on the item in that price range.0
