Second Class Stamps?

I'm just really clarifying something I'm sure is correct.
When ever I enter a postal competition (Magazine or ITV) I enter using postcard size envelope with a 2nd class stamp. I give enough time for the entry to arrive at it's destination (normally 4-5 work days).
Is there any reason why this may be wrong? Size of the envelope etc?

1st or 2nd class Stamp does not matter if it arrives on time and the postage is correct.

Individual terms and conditions will say if entry should be on a postcard, back of a sealed envelope and/or in a sealed envelope.


C5 accept the lot

Entries should be sent either on a postcard, or on/in a sealed envelope.

as do ITV

Entries must be sent on a postcard or on or within an envelope.
