Telogram Ltd/ HL Legal!!!!
WCWC
Hi.. basic outline...
I received a letter from Telogram Ltd saying I had a message waiting for me and to contact this number before a certain date... I threw away this letter as I could sense it looked dodgy a mile off.
Only today (no more than 7 days later) I received a letter from H L Legal Solicitors saying that I have ignored this letter.. and that I am to contact Telogram by 03 November to find out if this information is relevant to me in able for the matter to be drawn to a conclusion.
Again, poor effort...
The beauty of the internet allowed me to find out more about these companies. A simple google search was all I needed...
I have read pages and pages of posts from people who have all received exactly the same communication... firstly although I have had debt in the past, I do not owe a single penny to this day and have really been angered by the stories I have read on various web sites.
To me it's an obvious scam whereby they either make money on the call or through harrasing tactics attempting you to pay other debts by threatening letters/actions etc.
The H L Legal document had no email or fax number (web site does), is printed on low quality paper and more importantly there is no details of any such debt or owed amount whatsoever. If I wouldn't have googled this I guess I would probably be concerned as I do let things get to me too easily.
It seems to be my understanding that http://www.hllc.co.uk and http://www.capquest.co.uk actually are the same company with same address, both notorious for potential scams. Through just an hour or so reading online I actually do believe that Telogram Ltd are the same outfit... they all seem to crop up in the same complaints. I also read that the company have re-changed name on numerous occassions at same address suggesting that they are well known for a history of bad workmanship on their behalf.
I received the HL Legal letter this morning, that's all I am upto but from what I have read it all sounds very similar and the fact that they are still in operation is a disgrace in my opinion. BBC watchdog and the Trading Standards should really be drawn into this matter. I could go into the specifics of there workings from what I have read but I am pretty much certain that everyone is already aware of this topic as this is how I found this site so I put it in the same "debt topic" as the other thread.
Just thought I would shine a light on this topic, the more there are... the more people will know about this companies workings. imo they should all be hung, drawn and quartered... I don't think anything at this moment would give me the same level of satisfaction.
Many thanks.

This is what i wrote on another website and i think it is important for people to be aware of what is going on.
Also i hope it helps people out there who are in my situation and that of WCWC worrying that there is no one listening or able to help you.- I received the same thing today so i have been on various websites saying what to do if you get one and on most of the websites give sound advice. If you phone their number they have your phone number forever and wont stop pestering you so dont ring them (+ it will cost you to ring).
If you need to contact them and ask for proof of agreement (debt) Send them a letter do it via recorded delivery (as proof) and at then end of the letter when you write Yours Faithfully etc ” UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SIGN THE LETTER” if you do They then have your signature and they then can forge an agreement which it will be virtually impossible for you prove that you didnt sign any document
I wrote this first one on the 15th October and i updated it today 30th October 2009 with the following.- Further to my article i posted on the 15th October. i have had more developments.
In the last Two days i have received more letters etc and they are getting worse (threatening). So i thought i would take the advice of some information on other websites etc…
1. I went to my local police station and reported that there could be a scam going on in the area and to make them aware, the police gave me a reference number for future contact. So if they turn up at your door. get id off the caller and while they are there phone the police.
2. The letters i got one was supposed to be from a major bank and the debt was from 20 years ago so i called into the bank. hopeing and thinking they would help. The bank phoned them and immediately Capquest,H L Legal or Telogram (same company) said they cannot talk to the cashier and needed to speak to me direct, The cashier basically gave me the phone and my reply was under no circumstances am i talking to H L Legal etc. I also found out that if anyone has a debt outstanding with a bank etc they can sell the debt and that includes all your personal details to a collection agency. how is this legal? When we have been told to Shread every piece of paper with our personal details on or it could lead to someone forging your documents etc, But the banks are allowed to sell your details on? surely they are breaking some sort of law! So dont go to your bank!
3. Then i tried to get some advice off a Solicitor firm and in my cheeky free 10 min appointment and found out Solicitor firms are not interested because legal aid will not cover such cases like these + they think things are genuine too!
4. So i thought no one could or was willing to help me so i started getting worried. All the websites giving me knowledge of what to do but nobody in the profession seems interested or knows what to do (legally i mean) Anyway i was driving into my local town and i spotted a sign to CAB (Citizens Advise Bureau) and thought it was a long shot. So i went in and would you believe it! On talking to the Volunteer everything the website mensioned or advised me to do the Volunteer new and i was so relieved and instead of me having to deal with H L Legal etc they are acting on my behalf (what a weight off my shoulders)and first thing the Volunteer said was he will write to H L Legal for proof and if there is no proof thenwe want it in writing. SO if you are stuck please go to CAB(Citizens Advise Bureau).

If this debt was from 20 years ago, the CAB volunteer has only done half the job.
This debt is statute barred, even if there is a CCJ against you , if you have not paid towards it or acknowledged the debt in that amount of time.
This means that you do not have to pay it.
However, until you write to the DCA tellling them it is statute barred and you are not paying, they are legally entitled to continue asking you to pay.
Wil post a SB letter later.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
If a debt has a CCJ against it then it is not statute barred after 6 years as CCJs don't expire even if they drop off the credit file, however from a bit of reading elsewhere they will need to re-enforce the CCJ and state why they had no pursued for payment for more than 6 years. If it cannot be re-established in court, then it would become Statute barred.
Statute Barred Template - In many cases thou, a DCA won't have a complete history and thus sending a statute barred letter is probably still the right thing to do.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
