paying mortgage/bills via credit card

Hi People,

I was wondering is it possible to pay monthly mortgage payment with a credit card and also is it possible to set up direct debits on a credit card to pay bills such as gas,phone,sky etc... Then pay the full amount off to earn cashback?

Also what is the best interest rates these days as my 2 year fixed rate is coming to an end.

You can't set up DD's from a credit card. What you can do technically is create "continuous credit card authorizations".

I suspect that using your credit card to pay your mortgage is the same as a cash withdrawal and will probably incur charges.

You really need to read the t&c of your credit cards to see what is possible and perhaps talk your provider.

Lastly many people have had their fingers burnt by "continuous credit card authorizations" i.e. they are difficult to stop. Finally using a credit card to pay your mortgage is not recommended. This forum is full of examples of why this is the case.
