    Morning all,

The world is all fresh and bright after a day of solid rain yesterday, just what dry old East Anglia needed and our grass is already looking much better.
It’s DSS’s birthday today so we are meeting up for lunch at a pub in Ely, the food is usually very good and they have a lovely big garden so hopefully we can sit outside.
Other than that it’s a few chores and over to see Lu later this afternoon, she came in looking like a swamp monster yesterday so am hoping that somehow all that will have disappeared by the time I go over but very much doubt :rotfl:

The posy sounds just right TRU and after all it’s what you want to do.

Thinking of the TA’s and all others loving and caring for poorlies, take care folks x

    Morning All

I'm back! Had a lovely time in Lisbon, a really beautiful city with loads to see and do but boy there are some serious hills! Our hotel was paradise itself, could have stayed there without going out. The flight home was delayed by 2 and a half hours which wasn't great but we arrived safely.

tru - Your posy sounds lovely and you've obviously put a lot of thought into it.
    Congrats Elona!
Pleased to hear Mum's home Gers.
    Hugs to those with poorlies.

I MUST do some shopping this morning, the fridge is bare and the fruit bowl empty. Can't believe I have to shop for going back to work, where did the last 6 weeks go?

Have a good Friday, take care. XX
  • Morning all,

    It's Friday!!

Yesterday was a long day, as I expected. Finished at 11 and was home and in bed for 12.

Today, I need to nip out during work to get a hair cut. Afterwards, on my way home, I need to stop into a SM and get ingredients for making embire bisucuits. My mum has a local community event and there's a bake sale, so I've to make those and mint cake. That'll be my Friday evening.

The event runs 11-2 tomorrow, so once that's done, and if the weather is nice, I'll help out in my mums garden for an hour or 2. Then, TGFW is coming over again. I'm cooking, and no idea what to make but I'll do some research today at lunch.

Sunday, I'll be back working again.

    Monday I fly to Gibraltar

    Tuesday I fly back

    Wednesday I'm back to work

Thursday I'm off for a week to Aviemore with the family

So, not up to much really...

AoD - Hope you begin to feel the positive effects soon.
Snooozer - Aw that must've been gut wrenching for everyone yesterday. Happy anniversary tomorrow when it comes!
TA - Hate it when that happens. Thinking of you both.
camelot - Welcome back, glad it went well :)
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Well yesterday was quite a fiasco, first OH tells me that he is not to be discharged, then I get a call from the OT, what needs has he at home ready for his discharge.........pardon?? He has told them he can do things he cannot do safely and I can not longer do them for him....ggrrrrrr then a call from OH to say at last they have moved him out of the bay he was in......after several nights of no sleep as one of the other patients persisted in roaming about.

SS goes in and gets very little info from him.

I am going in myself shortly and will see what the score is.......but it does look like he will come home at some point..............

    Good morning everyone :hello:
It's very cloudy and cool here which is a blessed relief to be honest. My lovely cmht lady is coming to take me out at 9.30 so I am up and dressed ready to go. I will miss her so much when she finishes at the end of the month, there will be no replacement unless I pay for private care so that is that.

Oh snoozer, what a sad day for you and your family yesterday, I could cry for you xx Many many hugs to you, Steve and Laura xx
Speky, enjoy your baking evening, it all sounds like you are going to have a nice weekend too xx
AOD, I hope the antibiotics are kicking in and the pain goes away xx

I have shopping arriving when I am out so I must go and kick the kids bums out of bed so they can put it away for me. I have been scouring my recipe books hoping to be inspired and Lee has offered to cook tea tonight so I will ask for his ideas later on.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning all.

Welcome back Camelot...it is a shock to realise that school term starts next week.

TA - glad to see you posting.

ILC - I hope you have some support. I'm now on only child so will be having the same challenge at some time.

Snoozer - such a sad posting. My thoughts are with you.

Csarina - I hope things work out. My DM had a visit from a rehab nurse to check what she could / couldn't do and what equipment she needs. I know you'll make sure that you are looked after too.

Speky - empire biscuits are such a pleasure. Hope you've got some jelly tots too?

Tru - your little posy sounds perfect. You are entitled to your own grieving.

DM is looking so much better, she has colour in her face again. For a long time she was so pale. She's been 'tidying' the kitchen, washing dishes generally pottering around. My hopes are high! I've made tentative plans to go home on Monday for a couple of days. :j

Right now it's time to face the day, happy Friday to all.

    Morning everyone
The man who came and cleaned my oven yesterday made an excellent job of it....it looks like brand new!
I have all my pictures down from my living room and had planned on starting my painting early this morning....but my paint hasn't arrived....fingers crossed it will come this morning!
Eldest DD viewed a room she really liked last night in London, it's empty now so she could pay the deposit and move in next week. Then she had an email about a job she applied for in Cheltenham. They'd said she would hear from them last Monday, but she heard nothing and so made her mind up to move to London. She's emailed to try to find out when the Cheltenham interview would be, but now doesn't know what to do....tears on the phone last night, she really wants to live in London, but this is a 'proper' job.....
Anyways, shes just texted to say she's at the V and A....her train home isn't till this afternoon.
Well, I hope everyone has a good day

Raining hard and quite cool here today. Have just made a batch of choc. chip biscuits. I am going away to my sons for a couple of days so these plus a small fruit cake will no doubt be appreciated by my grandchildren.

I went with friends to see Andre Rieu last night. It was being streamed to our local cinema from Maastricht, really lifted my spirits.

Hoping something can be arranged for your husband Csarina stick to your guns! As always thinking of TA
