Help with car return (HP) through Arnold clark

Hi there,
I’m concerned about my position regarding repairs to a second hand vehicle I purchased through Arnold Clark (£2k deposit, £4500 on HP finance).
So I purchased a golf from stoke on Trent on 25 June 18.
After a couple of weeks (11 July) the coolant warning sign came on. Concerned and within my 60 warranty period I contacted the stoke dealership. They told me to go to my local one in Manchester and book it in for repair. I went to the first one the next day 12 July (Chester road) who said it would be 3 weeks but contacted their other garage in Stretford. They agreed they could do it a week Monday.
So on23 July I took it in... come a few days later the vehicle was repaired (25th July). On thurs 26th after driving home from work, the warning light comes up again, cooolant leaking out etc, contacted them and they told me to bring it in... on 27th I’ve gone straight back to the Stretford garage and told them it’s still not fixed. They provided me a hire car (fair play) after my disappointment to the ‘repair’.
Come the 3 August (a week later) I get a text to say it’s repaired.. I couldn’t collect until this morning. I’ve put the keys in and it’s screaming at me again, I can see liquid on the floor. At this point I asked for an engineer to come out and see. He filled up the coolant and said it’s likely that there wasn’t enough in After draining it but to test drive it today as I needed to go to work.
Safe to say on the way home the coolant is low and has leaked out. 2 repairs, I’m now out of the 1 month return period and now in the 1 month to 6 months period.
I’ve rang them up tonight and a manager will be calling me back, I assume to get it back in for repair no 3.
Now my question is, because I highlighted the issue within 1 month and it’s been ongoing... can I get a full refund.
Also where do I stand with the hp finance company. Am I too late to reject the vehicle?
Many thanks for your assistance

I believe the car and finance are 2 different things, you can return but will need to repay the finance, what I don't know is if you can swap it for another car.0

Tactics to get you closer to the 60 days auto reject period. It doesnt take 3 weeks to book in a car for coolant diagnostic and repair.
Were you driving it for 3 weeks topping up the coolant every day?0 -
Hi there and welcome to MSE,
I would suggest you check the terms and conditions of the warranty and the finance very carefully (and quickly). DCFC79 is right, that the finance may still be owed, even when there are issues with the vehicle itself. You may be able to swap the vehicle and/or you may even need some legal advice regarding this, because there could be questions raised under the Sales of Goods Act. Best of luck,
Laura
