Mortgage with a CCJ?

I'm currently looking for a new house and I'm looking for a mortgage. It's a possibility, if the case goes against me, that I'll receive a CCJ of approx £800. I'm currently not in a position to pay this outright. What sort of impact will this have on my capability of obtaining a mortgage? Thanks in advance!

It will impact on the rates available and the mortgage amounts lenders will want to offer you i.e. you may be required to put down bigger depositsI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. If you can't afford to pay £800 to prevent getting a CCJ, then please forgive me for saying that you can not really afford getting a house. I would strongly advise that you do everything to prevent getting a CCJ, as it will have a knock on effect for pretty much everything else you will do/need financially. You will find it difficult to get utilities connected, insurance on monthly instalments etc. Please take it from one that knows from experience, and do everything you possibly can to prevent damaging your credit file.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0
