As a first time season ticket buyer, I'm disappointed to find you can't have a mobile season ticket, and if you're not willing to queue for ages at a station to buy it in person, postage charges vary from 2.50 up to 7.50 - as my daily ticket is 3.80 that's almost a day's travel - is there a way to buy one online without paying postage?

Can you buy it online and print it off at a machine at a station.

That is what we do, albeit for day or period return tickets and not season tickets.

We are Southern Rail Chichester area.

Why aren't you willing to queue like everyone else?

The queue at Chi is hardly long. You would've got your ticket quicker than the time it took to write your post.

Thanks HTB, I'd much prefer to do that but sadly can't see a way to buy a season ticket online and print off at a station.

Equally sadly Keith, I don't live near Chi, the place with the short queue!

In fact when I actually went to the station (as there seemed no alternative) and queued up, they told me I couldn't buy it til Sunday, but after I pointed out that the website said from Friday noon, amazingly they found it was possible after all!

The GWR site allows you to buy season tickets with free postage - although this will require you to be purchasing them within a certain timeframe of the start date. I just did a test and got offered a ticket starting on 18th Aug for free postage.
