So Ive seen threads from a few years ago re this and there being many runners up of 2 free hotel nights. Also it seems you are encouraged to upgrade etc by emails and calls.
So apparently im one of this years runner ups and have won accomodation for 4 people for 2 nights with a choice of upgrade. What i was wondering is if anyone has actually taken advantage of the runner up prize and actually used this offer? I mean is it a 'real prize' as long as you stick to your guns and dont upgrade?
Its a chic festivals competition
Thanks in advance!

I've done it a few times had no issues not upgrading.
I did pay for the boat trip as it always a bit of fun but you stay in the same hotel as normal guest including use of the pool and breakfast. and get entry into all the events such as the pool party and the concerts there is nothing to define you as a runner up winner .0 -
From what I have read they seem to have a large number of these runner up "prizes" and they are more of a discount off the full price than anything else and some of them have the cheek to include this as wellThere is an online admin fee of £17 per person to claim prizes0

Very genuine. I've been to many of their events. You don't have to upgrade at all if you don't want to, but you're paying for a flight anyway so sometimes it's worth looking at flight prices vs upgrading an extra night or two0
