oh, just remembered....
I do buy some containers, deep dish thick foil single pie things. I keep half a dozen in the freezer lined with pastry and fill them with small amounts of leftovers as I have them.
then when I need/want them I can just top them with pastry or mash and bake.
its made for some interesting fillingsmy sister remembers the macaroni cheese bottom half and chilli beef top all in pastry (that I told her I thought was chicken.

I have been trawling charity shops are car boot sales for ages, and now have a really good selection of Pyrex dishes in a variety of sizes, some lidded, some not. Not one cost me more than 50p, and hopefully they will last for ever.
This thread reminds me that so really really need to defrost the freezer in the kitchen ..... perhaps I will make time for this today.0
