Successful reclaim for SKY box cover

Sadly my father in law passed away recently. I have been sorting the finances out for my elderly mother in law. Found they were paying SKY protect and another company Digital UK for the same cover which I believe is totally not needed. Also the later company quoted on renewals £4.99 a month but had been taking £8.99 a month for ten years! Managed to get a repayment of £979 paid back this week. Mother in law thinks I am "marvellous". Just really sad that my elderly parents in law have been overpaying for 10 years! Reason for sharing, do check through your elderly relatives direct debit payment with then as you just never know what is there.

It's not just the elderly who paid/are paying for unnecessary insurance on Sky receiving equipment. Most customers are well aware that Sky would quickly not charge customers who threatened to cancel their subscriptions unless their equipment was replaced or repaired.
All of this is also likely the reason that Sky Q receiving equipment is now rental.0
