Hi Ftb been reading your diary - good idea about the standing orders for credit cards. Was it easy and do they all fall in the correct time period? I!!!8217;d love all mine to come out on payday.Just one figure from now on - Total Debt as at 27.8.18 - £44,061.26.

Aw, thanks for the encouragement, guys! I hope I have enough steam to carry me through the next 2 years of debt-clearing... this forum 200% helps me :-)
PlainJane, it was easy but I know that standing orders aren't best for everyone - take your eye off the ball, you could miss a payment amount change, which would make the standing order amount not be enough & get a late/non payment charge. If you just want to change the date your direct debits come out, I'm sure the bank/card people will change that for you! It might mean a month or two where your payment amount changes (because they need to recalculate your payment amount when the date changes) but after that it'd be regular. More & more credit cards also let you specify how much you pay each month, too (all but one of mine do).Starting debt (Aug 2018) £17,900

Thank you I will look into all of this - my Barclaycard comes out ten days before payday which lulls me into a false sense of security thinking I have loads left when I don't.
Keep debt busting you are doing brilliantly.
