Deductions from pay

Hi,
I have recently had to leave my job because my mum has just been cured for cancer but still needs care, the company I worked for my Mum also worked for so they were very understand at the start but as time went on they didn’t seem impressed about all the time I had off to as she was very very sick, this made me feel like I almost had to leave as I felt very uncomfortable, she ended up getting worse so I did have to leave as she needed care.
Last week I got my final pay slip from the company, today I have been paid but have had £400 deducted. I’m guessing this is where I was off and wasn’t entitled to it however Is a company aloud to send you your payslip and then pay you differently without declaring they are to do so. Any advice please feel free to respond
Thanks in advance

How long between leaving and payslips being issued? it may be that the info wasnt processed in time.
Anyway if you owe it, they can take it from final pay. I would simply ask for an updated payslip.0 -
Don't guess. Ask them. But yes, if you didn't work then you don't get paid. But that should show on the calculation. However, we can't guess what had happened because we don't have any information. The employer does.Hi,
