Egg/Currys cashback - WATCH OUT!

I've just placed an order for a new TV via the Egg website which gives 17.5% cashback on your Egg card and I also used the £50 off voucher. It said my TV was available in my postcode area when I added it to my basket, but when I was asked to choose a delivery date it said that "stock level could not be confirmed at this time". This is very worrying as the T&Cs on the Egg website says you will only get the extra 12.5% cashback if the item is in stock when you place your order.... So, if anyone else is going to take advantage of this Egg/Currys cashback offer it might be a good idea to check that your order will qualify....

Re the message above, I phoned Egg to clarify the ts and cs; the guy told me that as long as the card was charged today (monday), then I would get the 17.5% cashback.

So did anyone else manage to order the 42" plasma TV for £600 odd? I placed my order at 12.01 this morning. Went out of stock pretty quickly....

How do I know when the card has been charged? I have only recieved one email saying the order has been recieved subject to availability. On the website it is saying order recieved. Is that enough to qulaify?

my order for a washing machine says card will be charged on day it is delivered!!! 9th June!!! Well how will egg get this one right??

Just spoke to Egg customers services and they said that if your order is taken by currys then you'll get the full cashback in September. I feel a bit worried about all this as we won't find out until September if we've got the cashback and by then it will be too late to return the goods. As the extra 12.5% cashback works out to be over £100 in my case I'll be in BIG trouble with the wife if I don't get it!!

I ordered a new dishwasher which was in stock when i ordered it and an iron. I got an e-mail today asking me to ring customer services only to be told that the dishwasher was out of stock and my whole order was being cancelled. When i asked why the guy said "because that's what we do when something you order is out of stock".

so no 17.5% discount for me, and guess what, the item is now back in stock on the website. i think Currys are pulling a fast one

Did you use the £50 off (or other) discount code?

According to Egg's t&cs Currys give 5% cashback and Egg give the remaining 12.5%, so if Currys are going to make a loss on the sale I think they'll cancel it and say out of stock. Call them (don't mention Egg) and see if they say it's in stock.
