Good dad-CSA what your view?

Hi there, im new on this site& cant believe what a hive of information it is!

Im not sure how to write this thread after seeing how some of you have very strong view on CSA.

My husband ex split with him 9 years ago they have two children, he was devastaed when she left.He then was with his new girlfriend for 6 years they split two years ago now im married to him! I have a child from a previous relationship.

Since the first split my husband has ALWAYS had his children Every weekend,a week over summer/easter/xmas hoildays.and used to look after kids once a week while she went to evening college for a year. My husband loves his children& is a caring father, pays for most things for them.

My concern is my husband has had a letter staing he owes £13.000.... im shocked at that amount as he's alway paid for his kids. but maybe down to his naivete he was paying his ex cash direct not through CSA& now she is only declaring £200 of it was paid to her.

My husband ex is well lets say is not that nice......she continues to put my husband down to the kids aswell as myself, she slags us both off to the kids & puts them in awkard postiton.she threatens to stop the kids coming to us at weekends if she isnt given any money. she is a very nasty women& has men in &out of her kids life for years, she lives in a pigsty, last year she asked us to have kids at our house for a week while she went on holiday with her new bloke& we live 3/4 hour from her& coz the kids had sch my husband said he would stay at her house so it would be easir to take kids to sch. my husband lasted 3 days there as her house was such a state& he legs was covered with flea bites.there is so much I could go on & say.....she is money mad, she hardly does anything for her own kids.& in my eyes she could be a much better mother.

If We could we would have the kids living with us, but she wont have any of it .this holiday we took all kids away& had a great time my husband youngest child was asking questions...about Drugs we wondered why? the child then described in detail how roll a "funny" cigarette neither myself or husband smoke never mind "funny cigarettes" my husbans asked his about this & basacily called her child a liar.

Its just my husband has paid cash to her, buys them clothe, shoes anything they want,pays foe sch trips&in her eyes its not enough.

When my husband was paying CSA direct she was only receiving £10 of that as she was on income support.She didnt believe that either, we have proof of all payments.

Sorry for rant, it makes me mad that he has been to court& given a liabilty order when he is a better father that she is mother! sorry id offend any one dont mean to .

I no every circumstances is different. thanks for reading

If she is on income support then it is very simple to see why she won't admit she had the money as she was not entitled to any of it. There really isn't much that your hubby can do to fight this unless he has strong evidence of the payments he made to her. It doesn't look like he has much choice but to pay it again. Having said that, why did he pay her direct and not the CSA? He must have been contacted by them years ago asking for his details and then assessing him. He should never have paid her because the money was always due to the Secretary of State and this is why they are asking for it now.

Is he paying them at the moment?

Yes three years ago she started work, before that she was on IS. he use to pay through CSA but changed jobs then went self eployed. he pretty dum when it come to thing like that, he has never signed on his his life & always worked he hasnt a clue about the "system"(myself ive strugled been on IS in past and now on working tax)& he never really talked to ppl about th CSA(he didnt want ppl thinking bad of him). more so since this liability order. up until we got together he was scared [EMAIL="Shi@less"]Shi@less[/EMAIL] of her coz of the threats she made. now were together he can see a different side......Ahhhh where do I stop!?

Has he got an up to date assessment taking into account his current circumstances and self employed income?

Not as yet, just waiting for them to pull ther fingers out I wrote 2 letter of complaint yestersday & e-mailed them to .....just so they dont loose the letters!!

How long have you had dealing with the CSA? I havent read through post yet! soo many!!

I was a face to face officer in the CSA and I am a PWC who has had to fight to get money but won in the end (after 7 years!!)
