Remortgaging timescales and process

I put in an application to remortgage a couple of weeks ago, and it’s been accepted in principle.
Our valuation has been done and we just received communication from the conveyancer saying they have been instructed by our lender.
Is this a good sign?? Would they instruct a conveyancer before they’d decided if they were definitely gong to lend or not?

It really depends on the lender - Usually they tend to wait until the mortgage has been underwritten especially if its in house legal services or fee assisted before instructing the conveyancer
