Our p60s don't reflect this year's earnings. How could this affect an application.

Hi and thanks in advance for advice.
We are hoping to apply for our first ever mortgage next week. Not sure yet wether to use a broker or not. I've been researching and saving and frugal for months and now just want to get on with it.
My biggest concern is our p60s are completely irrelevant.
Mine: I changed job 8 months ago from 8 hours per week to 30. Also had a large pay rise in april.
Partners: gained 8 more hours a week and an average pay rise in april.
We are talking almost £10k more income.
My concern is being asked for more bank statements, do you think this is likely?
We are really hoping to submit only 3months statements as we had an unfortunate event in april which won't look good on that particular bank statement AT ALL.
Hope anyone can help

Use a broker.0

Does the event show on your credit report? For example, going over an overdraft limit?
I would not be overly concerned by the lender asking for P60s. If they do, it can be explained. I doubt they would ask for more bank statements but any lender can do that regardless of the P60/payslip issue.
It is probably not a bad idea to use a broker, but based on what you have said, I do not think you need one.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
