Maris Piper chipping Potatoes

Just wondering if anyone knows what the difference is between Maris Piper potatoes that you can get in tescos etc and Maris Piper chipping potatoes which my local wholesale sells.

Im guessing chipping potatoes is what chippys use but this there any real differences?

I thought that just wasn't sure why they would call it a chipping potato instead of just maris piper.

Possibly graded to a size that would go through the cutter in a chip shop?

The chipping ones are rectangular so there is no wastage. They do often get bruised corners though

The worst chip shop near me serve 50% shards of chip, so you are paying full price for wastage!
