Hi everyone, have read a few posts about Payplan which sounds like a method of repaying debt.
Have found their website but don't really understand!
Am looking for a repayment plan for my OH who is constantly being hassled by creditors.
Can anyone tell me more about payplan and if its a good idea?
thanks

Payplan. Good idea??? I should coco.
Have been with them since March and they have been brilliant. They work out how much your have spare each month to repay creditors AFTER general living costs. Would recommend them 100%.
I am on a DMP (debt managment plan ) which is basically a plan where you pay what you can afford and Payplan deal with your creditors and help you along the way.
As it is your OH that is getting the hassle I think it may be wise for him to ring them. They will arrange an appointment and go through everything. Nice people really make you feel at ease.
If you do not fancy talking to someone on the phone there is also CCCS. You can fill out a form online without calling anyone if you prefer.
They are both charitable companies. If you want to go down this road do not go with a fee paying company.

Thanks yellowmonkey, very helpful post.
If he joined payplan will the creditors stop hassling him? He is on incapacity benefit as a result of depression, these phonecalls make him worse and the spiral continues.
When I read about payplan it sounded like those debt consolidation people, I take it that I'm wrong? Total debt £21,000 :eek:Weight loss to date - 2 st, 2lb:j0 -
Hi
They are not like those people on the Tv. Those companys charge you for doing what Payplan do for free. Payplan are well respected with the credit industry and have more sway than the Tv companies. They cannot promise to stop your creditors hassling you however or even agreeing to the plan but they are a good company to have on your side. From my experience though I have had no hassle whatsoever and it has, thus far, gone rather well.
Good luck

I use PayPlan to conduct my IVA and they are such an amazing company. They really are fair, realistic and highly knowledgeable when it comes to DMPs and IVAs.
My partner is in a DMP and yes, it does stop the endless amount of calls from rather nasty people - I don't know how these people do their job...one nasty piece of work told my partner that our daughter (who is 2 and was crying in the background) that she would have something to cry about if it wasn't sorted!!!!!!!)
One thing I will say is that most of the phonecalls are scare tactics. Sure, they're not nice but if you begin to get things sorted - and tell your creditors that you are entering a DMP they will listen and give you more time.
Do tell him he's not the only one - maybe you should direct him to these forums, it always helped me!!! xxxxx
Happy and thankful with never enough time to do everything:rotfl:0
