Toilet Roll Recommendations

Hi,

I normally get my loo roll from Makro - usually whichever is on their offer. However, I may not have that option for a while. I’ve never seen anywhere cheaper than what I usually pay for either Cushelle/Andrex/Velvet.

I’m looking for either good deals on those brands or recommendations for not so well known brands. I tried the Nicky stuff from Home Bargains once, and I was pleasantly surprised, however they made us all sore and itchy, so it’s probably best to avoid anything with lotion in it.

Thank you in advance.

Sometimes Tesco have 32 rolls for £5 - not the biggest rolls but still good value IMO. I forget the 'brand' - it's not a 'commercial' one.

  • Hi,

for 'that' area you want something 'pleasant', Andrex Quilts are good.

With the cheaper stuff you use more, or you end up with this.

I've just taken delivery of the sample pack of 'Who Gives a Crap'. I have to say, not given it a very close examination of price, but we like it. It's in recyclable packaging. Double length rolls (who likes changing it? Apparently several of our lot!). We had the Aldi Double length for a long while, but they seemed to change their formula/supplier and it's no longer my brand of choice.

We have a macerator in our second floor loo, so will probably carry on using the flimsy stuff up there.

The Aldi Saxon Quilted is a good budget buy I think.
    Normal people worry me.

I used to use Velvet quilted and decided to try alternatives.
    Thought Nicky was dreadful.
I liked the Saxon quilted from Aldi, Oh preferred Tesco quilted.
So I have my preference in my loo and he has his preference in his.
And of course we have the Saxon in the downstairs cloakroom. ;)

Asda shades is very good. Thick and soft, just like my husband!
And not a bad price either.
