Increased number of calls from unknown numbers on mobile since I started comping

I started comping regularly in early 2018 and I have been getting a lot of spam calls on my phone during this time. I usually enter the phone number into google to confirm it's a spam number. Most of the time it is. A couple of weeks ago I got a call from another unknown number. When I entered this one into google there were no results. I am wondering if I might have missed a call notifying me about winning a comp. I'd like to ask compers - do you just answer every call you get even though a lot of them will be spam? I don't particularly like spam calls, but I also wouldn't want to miss out on a win by not answering a potentially legit call. I've read that many comp providers don't leave messages and only make one call, so if you don't answer, you miss out.

In the almost 2 years since I have had a mobile number for nothing but comping I have had no spam calls and I answer every call I get - if there were lots of spam calls I would simply switch numbers (a previous number used for comping and some other things did get PPI calls etc but based on the last 2 years they probably were not down to comping). I also get no spam calls to the landline or spam post.

I also have a mobile number just for comps and do get the odd PPI etc calls but I will either just play them along or hang up and block their number. I always answer my phone though as would hate to miss a win.

I've been comping for a few years and I don't get anymore spam calls than I did before I started comping. I make sure I don't put in my number unless I have to and always watch the tick boxes and stuff in regards to sharing information. If you're not careful with that then you'll probably get more spam
