Avon fragrances - help

Hi,

I was wondering if one of you knows if there is any sort of "correspondance" between avon scents and other brands of perfume. I am asking this because a while back I read here about the many uses of skin so soft, which was some unpublished info provided by avon. And normally perfumes are close to one another, so it makes it a lot easier to choose

as for the fragrances, they have have very good prices (5-10£). In their catalogues there are normally 1-2 scented pages, but it is not enough to compare scents.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I know I have the alternative of trying to find an avon representative, but I really don't want to bother anyone about it, especially since I'm not a very frequent buyer and the trouble of visiting me would certainly not be worth the margin I would give her.
  • You could try writing to them via their website and seeing if they will send you some samples out.

I used to be an avon lady and when i did it there were no avon scents that were identical to high street designer fragrances.

Of course you might get something with similar undertones but nothing that you would think oh that ones calvin klein or chanel etc... Hope that helps.

But having said that i think avons perfumes are some of the best around very affordable and great smells as well!!

    Hi,

thanks for the replies. If they are not close to any designer fragrances I may have to look a bit closer at how my favourite designer are described and risk ordering a similarly described one from avon.

The other day I risked it with yves rocher and ended up with a very nasty perfume...

I have asked them for some samples, but to no avail. only when I request the catalogue to do I actually get a reply (the catalogue!!). :-(

    Thanks everyone.

thanks for offering to do this, but I really don't want to bother any rep, I don't think it's fair, since my margin is quite small and I know you should all focus on people who order a lot and not waste your time with money-savers-on-a-tight-budget. thanks anyway.

    Hi,
since you ask, I can tell you I really like armani code, davidoff game, chanel chance, giorgio beverly hills ocean dreams (discountinued), estee lauder pleasures delight. Is there a "tone" covering these perfumes?
Can you help me find out my tones? Thanks.

Well, my wife who has a perfume business, tells me that she knows part of your questions.

The equivalent to Armani Code is an oriental/floral tone in her company product range

Davidoff Cool Water Game is a fruit/floral tone and Chanel Chance is in their chypre/fruit tones.

She probably can find information on the other two products but has to do a bit more research first.

    Hope this helps.
