Spot cleaning suit jacket?

Options
DS has just bought a cheap suit for a special occasion - dry clean only. He has worn it once and got something (probably food) on the sleeve. I am a bit nervous about washing it but it's quite a big mark.

Best way to sponge clean the sleeve? Would you chuck it in the washing machine on a cold delicate wash and hope for the best? Do I have to spend the money getting it dry cleaned?

Baby wipes can move most stains. If it is a large stain you just use more wipes.
