Pension Wise cold calling

I recently called the govt Pension Wise service to arrange an appointment. Doing so reminded me that a few months previously I had a cold call from someone claiming to be from PW. Do PW cold call people they know to be over 50, or was it scammers? I always tell cold callers that I'm not interested and put the phone down.

No genuine financial services company or regulator or govt body calls anyone on pensions. It will be a scam if you are being called.
