we had pretty much the exact same scenario as you at the end of last year, minus the job change, also with NatWest. They asked for so much stuff we joked they would ask to see a birth certificate for the cat next :rotfl:
it was all approved very very quickly though, full application went in on a Monday and it was approved subject to valuation Thursday afternoon!
Hopefully yours will be fine too0 -
I have been a house husband for the past 5 years I could not get on the mortgage at thr time just before we bought it, as some stupid mistake I paid thr wrong card twice in error and missed my monthly payment of my credit card at the time. So they would not let me go on as joint applicant. The wife got her step dad as guranter, but since then she is in a much better position pay wise and is putting down a lot more deposit on the new home. The equity she has made from this current house. I was made redundant just after she first bought our current home, hence becoming a house husband worked out better. But I am due to start a job again in September as all the kids will be now in school.0

Glad it went well for you chrisse, yeh they are a bit overboard feels like the same thing as when my wife first applied as first time buyer with them. But she went through a broker at the time was prob being asked for consent documents all the time and relying the info to us.0

If you missed a couple of credit card payments 5 years ago, that wouldn't be a reason to now discount you from the mortgage. The fact you have no income as well, shouldn't be a concern. You should be structuring the mortgage as a joint venture as this will also give more comfort to a mortgage provider.I am a Mortgage Broker.

I have been added to the mortgage in name and my wife's step dad removed, they are aware I will be starting work in September.0

Sometimes it's just a quality check thing - I've worked in the NHS with doctors etc, our HR department regularly get calls from underwriters to confirm.
I was in the room with HR (and the doctor in question!) when Halifax happened to ring - he said they'd been a pain in the neck dotting all the i's etc.
Ultimately, it is what they're paid to do (annoying and stressful as it must be for the customer!).
Good luck, from the info on here it looks like you'll be fine!0 -
Chrissi can you remember how long it took from when Natwest received your valuation to offer. They received our valuation yesterday.0

This is becoming a joke now the wife said she was emailed by natwest requesting the joint account halifax bank statement. Has been sent across to them 3 times now. Not sure what they are playing at. She has contacted Halifax to get them to upload the months needed to our online banking so she can download them and send them across. !!!55357;!!!56865;0
