Workplace pension

My mother has been out of work due to disability for around 15 years or so and has recently (this month) managed to get herself back in to work (don't worry, benefits people were informed immediately).


There's been no mention of workplace pensions. Just wondering at what point as a new employee that you have to get auto-enrolled? Is it from day 1 or once some sort of probation period is over? If the latter than is there a maximum 'delay; time that there can be?
