For even the bet comedy series there gets to be point where the writers run out of ideas and it is no longer funny and the show has 'jumped the shark'

Has the same thing happened with Trump?

Threatening global nuclear war against little rocket man...a little off colour but probably safe enough

Trade war against economic allies - we'll there is the fun of deciding how many Harleys equals how much steel

Acting the apologist for Russia when they are accused of interfering to bring about your own the election....well that is the definition of bought and paid for

Repealing the separation of consumer and investment banking brought in less than 10 years ago following the gfc...looking after one's friends

But putting pressure on he central bank over interest rates effectively ending monetary policy independence...a step too far?

I don't think he has jumped the shark, he's caught and eaten it!

He's a guy without a clue, which makes him dangerous.

As a side note I read that a 'time traveller' has said that an atomic bomb will be droped on North Korea on 19th March 2019.

If the 'time traveller' is not a nutter, it will be an interesting time just before Easter next year.

Tried to once. Couldn't keep my eyes open.

For your info, this programme is permanently available on the BBC Iplayer, in the film section. I know this as it comes up every time on thier list when I look to see if there is any good films to see from the last few days.

There's an easy way to work this out. What does 'time traveller' say about selling the family house and investing in silver instead? I guess it depends on whether the family home is in Seoul.

Events are stacking up and I am reminded of that film the Caine Mutiny where the ship's officers are convinced that the captain has lost his marbles and should be relieved of his command.

Just a couple of points though. Donald will come to realize that his actions on trade will have re-actions and not the one's he intended. Pity we all have to suffer the disruption whilst he goes through the learning curve.

With regards to Russia interfering in USA politics. It was the USA that invented meddling in other Country's affairs. In 1903, for example, Colombia opposed the building of the Panama Canal. Panama promptly gained independence from Colombia (With "much help" from the USA) ,and the new "tame" Panama government gave the go ahead for the canal. There's bangs for your bucks.

Complaining about Putin's political interference is no different than a professional burglar indignantly complaining that some one has just burgled him, or her. How dare they!

With regards to cosying up to the the nuclear powers, Russia and North Korea, maybe I have misunderstood the situation but I cannot see much wrong with trying to make the world a little safer place.

Presidents of the USA usually do much better when they throw their military weight around. Harry Truman is still held with much affection despite nuking Japan in World War Two.

In the 1960's JFK was admired by many for standing up to the Soviet Union with the Cuban blockade To be fair the Soviets were setting up a nuclear arsenal about 90 miles away from the USA.

At that time there were huge demonstations against the USA around the world because people thought it would trigger off WW3 and apparently when Kruschev backed down and withdrew from Cuba he got sackfulls of letters from people around the world thanking him for pulling back from the brink.

The world is a crazy place, full of contradictions, but you are right, Donald is a loose cannon and no one knows where he might land next.

I don't think Trump has jumped the shark yet; but I would not bet against it happening any time soon.

The show that introduced the phrase though, Happy Days, ran for another seven years after the shark jumping episode? Trump will probably do another term IMO.

All that matters is how Trump is perceived in the rust belt. If it's returning jobs and prosperity back home. Then you can be sure Americans won't care a damn about anybody else.

I suspect the key word is perceived, actual results ma be less than what is claimed but who will know?
