I have many gambling transactions on my statement, but gambling is certainly not a problem for me. How can a loan company possibly think it is, unless you actually say to them "by the way I have a gambling problem, just thought I should let you know so you can assess my lending risk properly"0

Have you actually been offered a loan at a lower rate? Your credit rating means nothing but making regular repayments on the loan you have will have improved your credit history. Any lender scoring you though won't know you intend repaying the first stop loan so they may think you want £3170 in addition to the existing loan which may have a bearing on th3 rate offered to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I have already obtained the lower interest loan at 8%. Significantly lower than the 26% I had with 1st stop. Based on the genuine advice I got from the other posted I will settle it tomorrow.
Zx you are boring me now. I asked for money advice.
Dealerwins. You are in the loans section of a money forum with that alias and you've pushed "gambling is certainly not a problem for me' out if the blue. I used to lie to myself too :T0 -

zx81 is one of the main contributors to this forum who just gives advice without prejudice. Clearly you're one of those people who don't like to hear anything other than what they want to hear. You're going to have quite a miserable life going forwards unless you adjust your attitude and people on these forums will just stop answering your posts as they do it for free in their own time and will just decide to stop wasting it on someone who doesn't want to listen.
And just because you're one of those people incapable of exercising self control it doesn't mean everyone else is like you and it is quite feasible for someone to gamble on a regular basis and not have an issue. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Don't know if posts have been removed, but I've seen no sign of judgemental posts here.
OP, feel free to complain to the loans company if you think you're hard done by. If it goes as far as court or the ombudsman then they will look at what situation you would have been in had you not been given the loan, with a view to putting you back in that situation. If not getting this loan would have meant further reliance on payday loans then I think you're up on the deal as it stands, and so no compensation is due.
I'd be tempted to say that the bookmaker is more at fault for not addressing your gambling problem.0 -
Would it be judgemental to say that there is no irresponsible lending without corresponding irresponsible borrowing? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi can anybody give me some advice? I had a loan with creation but decided to settle early so I rang the company for an early settlement figure a letter was sent to me with the sum plus a rebate figure if paid by a certain date but when the payment was made the rebate was not deducted. I have contacted the company but they now say that the quoted figure was only for that day although I have it in black & white so where do I stand.0
