Yes starbucks have a rep for being a tad over roasted. Dark roasts also stale quicker. When storing coffee in the fridge its best to minimise condensation, hence daily batches in food bags or tupperware tubs. But in the short term just keeping the bag in there will be preferable to a hot kitchen. It ll be nice if thats the problem!

I normally store the unopened packs in my pantry which is generally cool and darkish and then fold them up and put them in the cupboard when opened until ready to go in the hopper.

I’ve looked at that Rave too so I’m also going to order some from there. They look good!

Well, I changed the beans. And only put enough for 2 cups in. This morning’s was spot on, but the one I’m having now is either bitter or too strong and I’m not quite sure which...I’m leaning towards bitter!:(

I’ll try another type beans, then I might clean the grinder using one mentioned, because if i have to get another machine anyway, it won’t make a difference if it wrecks it!

Ooh, actually I have the new grinder option too.

We have a DeLonghi bean to cup coffee maker and are currently using beans from Lidl - Colombian, strength 3. Aldi also do coffee beans in different strengths.

We also are Starbucks drinkers (god I miss Starbucks) and like Aldi and Lidl's staged beans in our bean to cup if we can't get to Costco to get our usual beans. For a bit of luxury my husband likes Whittards Guatemalan Elephant beans but that's a birthday/Christmas treat usually.
