Hi Guys
Recommendations for a home EV charger? Needs to be value for money (not necessarily cheapest). I'd rather buy right than buy twice.
Appreciate any help

Hi, I don't know if you intend charging from the grid or from Solar. If the latter then a Zappi is the ideal unit as it can be programmed to charge purely off of the surplus solar energy produced. You can check the product out at the following link:-
https://myenergi.uk/product/zappi/
If however it's the former then others may offer alternate suggestions. It may also help to know what you are expecting from it in terms of kWh output or the miles you cover each day. If you are out all day then overnight charging on E7 is probably the way forward.
I know Nissan install a Pod Point for you FOC when you purchase a new Leaf from them.
Hope this helps as a starting point.East coast, lat 51.97. 8.26kw SSE, 23° pitch + 0.59kw WSW vertical. Nissan Leaf plus Zappi charger and 2 x ASHP's. Givenergy 8.2 & 9.5 kWh batts, 2 x 3 kW ac inverters. Indra V2H . CoCharger Host, Interest in Ripple Energy & Abundance.0 -
Interesting. The Eddi looks very similar to the immerSUN that I have. Looking at the website it looks to be the same brains behind it as the firm that produced the immerSUN, so definitely worth a close look. I knew they were looking to start over but had not been looking that hard.
I recall suggesting the idea of a diverter for small battery storage and they told me in the immerSUN days that they were working on something in that space, so the Zappi would seem to fit that bill. The idea of a diverter for EVs sounds great to me and if I had an EV I would certainly be looking closely at the maths.0 -
I am by no means an expert on the subject of EVs but the Zappi looks like a fantastic option. Apparently costs the same as other chargers, works like the immerSUN or iBoost but can pass up to 32A to the car and works with battery systems or diverters like iBoost.
Would be interesting to hear the views of those in the know in terms of EVs and chargers, so I can be more in the know when the time comes to buy a new car, which would be likely to be an EV. Their site is https://www.myenergi.uk - and no I am in no way affiliated with them, just a fan of what the same people produced in the past...0
