Confused!!

Hello everyone

I am around 20k and at the beginning of the week spoke to CCCS, who were great. They said i had two options, or a debt management plan. I have been reading about each and i had decided to go with bankruptcy but now i have no idea.
On the debt management plan it will take me 13 years to clear the debt on my current wages, but i am able to take on a second job which could cut it down to five years but i am not sure how a second job will effect me if i decide to go with bankruptcy. Also im worried about how each option will effect my future plans. eg getting a mortgage and starting a business.
Ive tried to figure out what would be better but now ive scrambled my brain!!

Sorry this is long winded, and sorry if ive scrambled your brain!
Any help will be gratefully received.

  • Hello Eagles (any reference to cpfc in that name ??) , its pretty much your decision , its good you have taken professional advice though. There are pro's and con's for either , but , in my case , if I could have paid my debts in 5 years I would have gone for a DMP..........but I had no income , no business , no job , and just the prospect of paying back till the end of my days ( and beyond I expect). I chose BR. Have no idea how it will affect me in the future , but it was my choice.

I know lots of us here can tell you what we did , but its best you make your own decision on this. I wish you luck.

I'm a bit confused too, but more by why you've included three links in your post - they seem to be rotating, as they were showing actual companies a few minutes ago, then went to RX Web Search results pages, & now have gone back to advertising specific companies. Can you remove these, as otherwise it looks like you're just posting to advertise these companies instead of asking a genuine query. I would hate anyone to click on one of these commercial links and end up contacting a company that charges for services, when there are perfectly acceptable companies offering help free of charge in the links in my signature & those of other posters. Please note, my signature has been authorised by the site's admin team (as is fermi's), & the site requires that anyone wanting to include information in their signature gets permission from the site first, so I don't think they would be remotely impressed by the links you have included as they would probably think you're spamming the board.

I'm not going to directly call you a spammer as you may have made a genuine mistake. However, this site has had a lot of problems in the last few days & I think everyone can do without those links being there. I've sent you this by PM as well, as I think you should edit this post asap to ensure that members of this forum who need actual advice aren't misled by it.

And everyone, please ignore the links in the post. If they've been posted deliberately to spam the board (& I'm not saying they have been), you'll be assisting a spammer rather than helping someone who actually needs help. I've quoted the post in mine so that people can see it, but have edited the links so that whether eagles edits their post or not, no-one can click on the ones in the quote to get anywhere. Thanks.

    Hello,

I am not a spammer, i have no idea how the links got on here, and i have no idea how to get them off. I have tried to edit my post but i cant see anything that needs to come off.
    Any ideas?

    Try this.
    1. Edit the post.
    2. Copy/paste the text into notepad.
    3. Delete the original text in the message.
    4. Copy/paste the plain text from notepad back into the message box.
    5. Save the edited message.
If the links are still there then I would go and read the malware/spyware removal guide on the Techie board.

EDIT: If you have no idea how the links got there then do that ASAP whatever happens.

I would suggest you hit the edit button on you first post and delete the first sentence in its entirety, then save it.

Otherwise the mods will probably delete the whole thread.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

    Links are gone. :D

I'm still concerned how they got there in the first place though.

It could well be the symptom of a spyware/adware Browser Helper Object (BHO) in Internet Explorer. These are often installed with so called "free" toolbars, or by booby trapped web pages.

If this seems to be the case, then there is loads of advice and experience for getting rid of such nasties on the techie forum:
