New job

Can anyone tell what is the best way forward. I am currently earning 750 per month and i want to go bk. I have been for a job interview today, which would mean i would earn 1100 per month. When i spoke to CCCS the lady told me bk was a good option. if i continued to earn 750 per month until discharge then it would be likely i would not pay an IPA/O and that after discharge i could earn what i liked. in an ideal world, work for 750 per month until discharge and then get a higher paid job and not have to pay any monies to OR. I know this sounds like i am being tight and am trying to trick the system, but i am not. My health is really poor right now, and the idea of relatively stress free job for 12 months sounds lovely, but obviously there is a real incentive to do this if afte 12 months i would be dischraged and allowed to take on more responsibility and hopefully more work. the job at 1100 i would just take because it would give me (and the OR) a surplus, but i can;t guarantee it would be permanent, it would depend on whether it would stress me out or not. i was off with depression this time last year, and don;t want to commit to anything that might make me worse.
any help very much appreciated.

Hi
Firstly, the only person who can make the final decision is you
BUT
If you are deemed to have a surplus that falls within the IPA framework ( generally accepted as £100 or over per month) you may get a 3 year agreement to pay part of that surplus.
If you have no surplus and a relatively stress free 12 ( or less) month BR til discharge, you will come out the other end with no payments to make. The discharge in this case is final...nothing more to pay....
Only you can make the final choice but weigh up all your options. If you take a higher paid job, your outgoings may go up too.1/11/06 -1/06/07 BSC #42

Your health is a very important consideration here. Also, take into account that 12 months goes by much quicker than ( potentially) 36. The majority on here seem to have had early discharges too.
cheers
Thanks for your good wishes and good luck. Let us know how your journey progresses.

Hia Hanspans!
First of all its great your on the road to recovery with your health! That more important than anything else.
More than likely you will be asked to pay extra if you take on the higher paying job. Normally your IPA agreement gets reworked by the case worker involved if its the OR or the IP if your doing it privately.
The 3 year agreement would only happen if you didnt make the OR aware of your higher income. Another way is that if you refuse to sign a new amended IPA if your income id reworked.
I would take the lower paid job, take a breather, work on your health and family. A BR is hard enough without taking on a harder job too.
You can always have a look here to understand more about how IPA is worked out.
