Seat Leon's

I may have to replace my car soon. I'll be looking at a diesel on a low budget whenever i do get to replacing it & a Seat Leon 130 on a 2003 plate has come up close to me.
If it's the same engine that's in the MK4 Golf GT TDI 130 then i'm familiar with the engine. Generally fairly solid, decent economy with nice poke and room for a remap.
I'm just not familiar with Seat's at all. Is it all much the same as the Golf ... just more plastic-like (or rather, cheaper plastic)?
There was a Passat TDI 130 locally i saw on Friday dinner time. 2 problems with it - 1) it was the Highline version (so leather seats which i hate but considered living with) and 2) it was gone by tea time :rotfl:Are the Passat's fairly solid cars? I worked with someone who had one & it seemed ok but he's moved on so i can't ask him about it really.

I had a 2003 ibiza 1.9 tdi sport 130bhp. It is the same engine as a golf and the passat. It was like a rocket, brilliant car. Just the electrics were poor (instrument cluster, headlights going etc). I!!!8217;d go for Seat again.
I also own a pasat tdi 130bhp with 220,000 miles. They are brilliant. Economical and punchy. I!!!8217;ve done quite a bit of work to it (new clutch, pads and discs and front calipers, new OEM headlight units as the old ones are prone to breaking the adjustors).
Both are and have been great cars0 -

I went through to have a look at it late on last night. It's cheap so i don't expect anything pristine. It looks like a possible farmer or builder has had it :rotfl:Hole in the rear bumper, scratches around the door handles where a blind man tried to get his key in the lock, interior looks like it's had a bag of sawdust opened up inside there (ok that last one is a heavy exaggeration but it's dirty).
Nothing that a good clean wouldn't sort out. All pads look fine apart from one which is a little low.
Right now i'm in a very indecisive stage which is annoying :rotfl:My car hasn't broken yet & it may last for a good while, but it's just not quite right, is 17 year old & not worth anything.
I need to make my mind up.
The Passat's i've looked at that are local all seem to be the Highline version. I can't blame these people - i'd want to get rid of leather seats too :mad:0 -

If the search function provided it i'd love to go back and see if out of all the replies of yours on my threads is there even 1 that's worthwhile? Makes me wonder why you even bother?
I'm sure there'll have to be at least 1 helpful one in there somewhere. You can't be that bad, can you? :beer:0 -

There's more than one. Lighten up seriously.
Look up grocer's apostrophes. There are some grammar police on here, but it was a genuine tongue in cheek comment...0 -

When it's continuous it makes me wonder whether you have an off button though.
