My 86 year old mum after many years of persuading agreed to have a new top set of dentures last Sept/oct. They broke within 2 months and I tried to ask for a refund at the time. Forward to now, 10 months on and at least 6 repairs. Last one 10 days ago and they broke yesterday.
My mum pays for these as she is not on benefits though only on basic pension. We have an appointment Monday to discuss (again) - do you think it fair we should get a refund so we can get new ones made at a different practice?

Broke as in ?? dropped / cracked ?bite ??
Basic pension she should be either entitled to help via Pension credit or via HC3 help with medical stuff .0 -
No she has 23k savings. Broken in use when eating her favourite daily meal - bacon and egg0

Is your mother using a private dentist as there should be no charge for a NHS denture repair?0

As an aside does she get Attendance Allowance ??
Not means tested.............0 -
No attendance allowance. I'm her only helper and I do less than 20hours per week on average.0

Even if she goes to a different dentist it's possible the denture would be made at the same laboratory.0

Nothing to do with it.
Have a look here & see if it can be claimed for her. You can fill the form in for her....all 32 pages of it !!
