merging videos

I do the odd video comp, and can trim clips in windows photos, but I don't know how to merge if I need to stitch a couple of bits together. I'm really not into be arty and faffing about just want something really simple for the odd comp. Can anyone either tell me how to do it with windows photos (when I use create it always misses loads off) or suggest an easy app or something please?
