We had the match on pause for half an hour as DGs didnt get to sleep till 7,30.Did a bit of selective fast forwarding and had nearly caught up by the end of half time, when DS2 rang  to see if he'd settled down ok.We didnt answer the 1st time but couldnt ignore it again- the 1st thing I said was 'don't tell me the score'!
Felt sorry for them but if anyone had said they'd get to the semis before this, you wouldn't have believed it so they did really well. DGS was a bit sad when we told him this morning but soon recovered, part & parcel of being a football fan.
My new Remoska cooked Delias Piedmont roasted peppers to perfection yesterday. Its a standard so seems a lot smaller than the Grande I used to have, but I still have aCzech cooker(similar idea) I bought cheap to replace that one if I need to cook a big chicken. At least I can cut down on using the big oven. Not sure whats for tea tonight but DH is fetching the butchers meat pack home shortly so will have plenty of choice.
Hope you all have a good day & more hugs for those in need xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

He has been putting off thoughts of a wheelchair until absolutely necessary but that time has come and I am going to start looking into it. It must improve life a bit for him as the only times he gets out now is for hospital appointments.
I admit, I bypassed OT, as I was in a position to just decide what I needed and purchase it, but honestly, it will make life heaps easier.
Do make sure it's light enough for you to haul around though; mine is a tad on the heavy side for getting in and out of the car (it lives behind the drivers seat in our Honda Jazz). It will need replacing at some point - after 13 years, it's getting somewhat worn, and has had new wheels once already; and I've decided the next one, I will spend a bit extra and get an ultra lightweight one that I can move in/out of the car myself if necessary. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all.
Thanks for the thread Holly and hugs to TAs and Bella and anyone else in need.

Afternoon all,
I watched the England match till full time, but then turned it off as I couldn't stand the stress . It is such a shame that they lost, but I think they did the country proud. Well done boys :T
We have spent the morning tree lopping, until the 'lopper ( and us) ran out of juice. One large branch got stuck so we had a coffee and decided what to do with it, when I jokingly said that we need the squirrel to jump up and down on it. No sooner had I finished the sentence when there was a almighty crack and down it came :j. The battery is now on charge again as there is still more to do.
We are on a yellow warning for thunderstorms all day tomorrow, so I have put a load in the WM. I shall hang it out, with Mr Fix It's help and hope it dries.
I am going to have a long soak in the bath later, as my back has started playing me up. I've had it before but I don't know if it's muscular or what, but it's very painful if I don't catch it at the first twinge. I fear I'm falling apart quicker than I anticipated .
Tea tonight will be corned beef pie, already made and the wedgies that we didn't have last night. ( we had chips ). There is still some upside down cake left too. Easy :j.
Thinking of the TA's, bellabella and her DD. I hope Gers Mum makes it back home safely too.
Thanks to Holly for the really early start. ( I was still awake till 4.30 am. )

Hope everyone is enjoying Thursday, take care all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Afternoon all,
Bellabella sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope she recovers soon.
Speky half way through your shift.:T
TA hope all went well at the hospital.
Busy day for me walking me legs off round the shopping centre. Only 2 shops I wanted to go in but had to walk from one end of the mall to the other and then back again.
Grump is Grumpy as two of the tyres he bought yesterday have to go back. They were bought new but old stock....old stock indeed. The date stamp on them say they are 13 years old. Far too old to be used safely.
Prodigal came earlier nursing a bad foot. I'm worried about him.
Onwards and forwards,

Afternoon folks. Just caught up on posts and wanted to thank those of you with suggestions about contacting the OT for an assessment. I had no idea you could do that.
Whilst waiting for Mr TA's injection (after he had been weighed!) the Specialist Nurse came out for a word about his weight loss. It has all been discussed before, every time we go. She also mentioned his mobility looked a lot worse and, despite, it not being their specialist field (unconnected to his cancer) she wanted to know all about it and she too suggested requesting an OT assessment! She said, however, ask your GP to do the referral as they can add a bit more clout to it.
I also mentioned the bl**dy problems he is having with the stent and the never ending loo trips. The tablets they prescribed to "help ease the problem" seem to be making him worse not better. She is going to have a word with the Urologist about it and see if he will either give me a ring or see us again quite urgently. She has just replaced the previous specialist nurse and is an absolute diamond, especially as all the problems she is trying to help with are not connected to his cancer!
Whilst waiting for the transport car back home we were on wheelchair watch in the big atrium area! Taking note of any which looked lightweight to transport, easy to self propel etc! One in particular appealed - a G Lite - so will Google that when get a minute to myself later!
Meanwhile, the Pasta Bake is sitting waiting to go in the oven for when the hungry hordes descend starving after swimming.
Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
