Paying for my own DBS

Hi everyone,

I have signed up for an agency and they have said I need to foot the initial bill for the DBS and they will repay me the costs if I stay for a month.

Is this fairly standard for agencies? I've applied for another place (a trust) and they paid for my DBS.

Should I just bite the bullet? Obviously, it just feels like they don't want to invest in staff, or they have a high staff turnover.

Thanks

  • I was in a similar position where I paid for it myself and realize the company would only accept one through the agent.

    Will you stay a month?

Yes, this is will be great experience if I get the gig. I'm more concerned about my references as that will obviously take longer and it's possible the references won't be enough, and then it will be a waste.
